
179th Diocesan Convention
Lay Delegates and Clergy of the Diocese of Western New York are gathering at the 179th Diocesan Convention this weekend. The Convention is taking place in Niagara Falls.
Delegates will elect members of the Standing Committee, the Diocesan Council, the Trustees of the Diocese and Deputies and Alternate Deputies to the 2018 General Convention of the Episcopal Church. The Convention will also take action on proposed amendments to the Diocesan Canons and the 2017 budget of the Diocese.
The Rev. Rachelle Robinson of Shiloh Baptist Church in Buffalo will serve as chaplain of the Convention.
Brittany Love, executive director of A Movable Feast, a ministry of the Diocese of North Carolina that uses a food truck for evangelism and community engagement, will be the banquet speaker.
Bishop Sean Rowe and a delegation from the Diocese of Northwestern Pennsylvania will be present at the Convention.
After the Saturday Eucharist, delegates will board buses to visit three community ministries in Niagara Falls.
