Youngstown – Women in Church Music Series (Wednesdays in Ocober)
On Wednesdays in October from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Dr. Carole Harris will present a lunch and learn series on women in church music:
- Oct. 16: Hymns by women
- Oct. 23: Gospel music and spirituals
- Oct. 30: Contemporary composers and performers
This is a free program. Bring a bag lunch (beverages will be provided). Learn more on the St. John’s website.
Hamburg – Discovering Humor in the Bible Classes (Begins October 2)
Beginning October 2, Trinity, Hamburg will offer ten sessions on Discovering Humor in the Bible, a book that uses the Bible’s humor to help people become more skillful and insightful Bible readers. The course is free, and classes begin on October 2. Texts are available on Amazon for $15.65 (or $9.99 or Kindle). View the class schedule and resource list.
Attica – Rummage Sale (October 26)
On Saturday, October 26 St. Luke’s Attica will hold its fall rummage sale from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Hamburg – Children’s Halloween Party (October 27)
Trinity Church Hamburg will host a children’s Halloween party and costume contest on Sunday, October 27 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The theme for the costume contest is “Be A Hero”. Lancaster – Snowflake Bazaar (November 9)
Trinity Episcopal Church in Lancaster will hold its annual Snowflake Bazaar from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. on Saturday November 9. The event will feature handmade crafts, a rummage sale, basket and 50/50 raffles. A homemade clam chowder and sandwich lunch will be served from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Attica – Soup & Bread Dinner (November 11)
On Monday, November 11 St. Luke’s Attica will host a soup and bread dinner serving from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. All you can eat for $5.00.
Buffalo – “Seeking the Sacred in our Broken World” Talk (November 23)
On Saturday at November 23 at 7:30 p.m., the Fresh Voices @ Trinity speaker series will present “Seeking the Sacred in our Broken World,” a conversation with Andrea Ó Súilleabháin from Partnership for the Public Good and Rahwa Ghirmatzion from PUSH Buffalo.
Tickets for this event are available online for a suggested donation of $10.
